The M.E. Cox Center for Elder Day Care, Inc. exists to enhance the quality of life of our frail or functionally impaired older adults and their family caregivers by providing high quality, cost-effective services to area residents without regard for race, sex, religion, or national origin.
What is Adult Day Care?
It is a community based program that provides a variety of services for older adults, who are not capable of full-time independent living. Adult day care participants attend on a planned, yet flexible basis.
Our Purpose
Provide assistance & supervision for adults with functional impairments.
Maintain the individual's present level of functioning, as long as possible (preventing or delaying further decline).
Offer an alternative to costly, or no, client care at home.
Foster socializatioin & recreation.
Support, respite, and education for families and other caregivers.
Serve as an integral part of the community service network and the long-term care continuum.
What about Cost?
Rates: $58/day compared to private in-home companion at $150 to $200/day ($19/hr)
Scholarships available, as low as $39/day
May be covered by long-term care insurance policies
Admission
Please call for an application, or come by to pick up one. If you decide to submit an application, (which includes completion of a TB Test with a medical form by a licensed physician within 30 days), an admission interview will be conducted. A waiting list may exist.
We accept older adults, without regard to sex, race, religion, national origin, or county/city of residence.
